Biography

Matthew K. McDonald, age 19, passed away on July 24, 2000. He was born on February 11, 1981 to Kelly C. and Beverly Nash McDonald, in Provo, Utah. He grew up in Provo, attending Maeser Elementary, Provost Elementary, Farrer Middle School and Timpview High School. Matthew Graduated from Timpview High School in May, 1999.

Matthew was a member of the LDS Church, and attended the Provo 15th (Bonneville 5th) and Edgemont 7th Wards.

Matt especially enjoyed the outdoors. He loved fishing with his brothers and Grandpa McDonald. Many times, they fished the lakes and streams of the Uintah Basin. Matt enjoyed working with animals at the farm with Grandpa Nash.

He was very interested in archery and worked during a summer instructing scouts in archery at Camp Maple Dell. He also enjoyed baseball and played for a year on the Timpview Sophomore Team.

Matt's interests included hiking, reading, ceramic pottery, and chess. He would spend several hours per day reading novels. Although he was quiet, he was a very good writer and could express his thoughts and feelings with grace. He valued his friends and enjoyed being with them.

Although Matt's time was short, we loved him dearly, and we are deeply touched by his life with us. Now, after many years since his passing, we still think of him often and hope for a joyous reunion.
